The HARAJUKU TECHWEAR SKIRT is a long black A-line skirt with an irregular, asymmetric drape: metal rings and clips placed down the front let you hitch up one side of the fabric, so the hem falls in layered folds and opens at the leg. Leave it unclipped and it becomes a full, flowing maxi skirt.
The waist is elasticated for an easy fit, and small metal D-rings and buckle clips run along the front panel, with short straps at the hip. The fabric is a plain black polyester with a soft, heavy drape that swings when you walk. Sizes go from S to 3XL.
It is the piece of the photos worn with a cropped black top, a long chain necklace and lace-up combat boots: a dark Harajuku street look that also works for everyday wear. Add a cap and platform boots for a gothic edge, or a fitted long-sleeve top for a cleaner silhouette. How do I make the asymmetric drape? Hook the clips into the rings on the front: the fabric gathers on one side and the hem rises into layered folds.
Is it a mini skirt? No, it is a long skirt; the hitched side only opens it at the leg.
